Summer Fayre Saturday 3rd July
Saturday 3rd July, eventually came and I hope a great day was had by all.
Lots of hard work and preparation went into the fayre.
Saturday came, and we had the venue, the advertising, the stalls planned, the donations, the decor and the helpers. We also had some nerves but alongside that excitement. We really hoped that people would come to our fayre. We were not disappointed!
I could not be happier with the turnout. There were lots of friends and family there to show their support and have a good time but also lots of faces that we didnt know which was great.
All our stalls made a fantastic amount of money which I could never have imagined. The magician, facepainters and our nail art expert were great fun for the kids and adults. Balloons decorated the hall with whs logo colours. Thankfully the weather was definitely on our side on Saturday and it was lovely to see people come to the fayre, then go into the garden for a drink, or to play hook a duck (which was very popular) then come back into the fayre. For most of you there, you will know that Kian did not leave the sandpit, we did try, but he certainly let us know that he wanted to go back in. The soldiers from Catterick provided fantastic entertainment which kicked off our fayre which their musical talents. Thank you.
It was very special to have other families there on the day who have children with whs. The chairperson from the trust came down from Scotland with her family, and we had 4 other families that came who have had a child affected with whs. My family hold a special bond with these families. Thank you to them for coming and making the day extra special.
I am absaloutely astounded at the amount of money we have raised. On the day of the fayre we raised over £2,000. In total with the donations, raffles tickets sold and other efforts we have a figure of £4,228.73. With family member Sarah helping on the day from Barclays we are waiting to find out what Barclays will add.
I cant thank my family, friends enough for their time and effort put into the fayre. Companies and the general public have been so generous with time and money.
Thank you all!
